Welcome! We would be delighted to have you participate in this year's Burlington Wine & Food Festival at Waterfront Park.

VOLUNTEER SHIFTS & Responsibilities

Pre-Event Set Up: Friday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Main Event: Saturday, 8 a.m. - noon, 11:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., 6:45 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Post-Event Clean Up: Sunday, 8 a.m. - noon


Setting up tables and chairs in the Wine and Seminar tents
Hanging signage
Setting up the Front Gate Tent
Helping to decorate the Seminar Tent for our private evening event

Main Gate

Assisting with ticket sales
Stocking welcome bags and glasses


Assisting with the disposal of dump buckets
Replenishing ice buckets and water pitchers
Cleaning tables and neatening up around the tent
Replenishing product and supplies
Handing out menus/promotional materials for suppliers
Setting up and breaking down between sessions
Assisting in replenishing wines during break
Resetting tables with new linens, ice, water, napkins, etc.
Directing patrons to the exits at the end of each session


Replenishing tableware and other supplies
Neatening up around the tent


Assisting with sales of merchandise
Manning silent auction tables


Setting up and breaking down before and after seminars
Monitoring the entrance at seminar tent


Cleaning up the site
Breaking down tables and chairs
Helping to pack away festival supplies


All volunteers should register at the Vendor, Exhibitor & Staff entrance on Lake Street 15 to 20 minutes prior to your shift for instructions. If you are registered to volunteer during Session Two (Time Slots 3 or 4) and would like to attend Session One as a guest, please pre-register with Kim Gregg at kimberlymgregg1@gmail.com prior to the event to line up tickets and badges. These will be left at the Vendor, Exhibitor & Staff entrance on the day of the festival.


Volunteer parking will be available in the Vermont Wine Merchants Company lot on 240 Battery Street.

Dress Code

Upon registration, you will be supplied with a Burlington Wine and Food Festival volunteer tee shirt, which must be worn during your shift. There will be a staff tent on site, where you may leave your belongings and change if necessary (please do not leave any valuables or breakables in the staff tent, as we cannot guarantee their safety). We encourage you to wear black or dark colored shorts, skirts or pants and comfortable shoes that you do not mind getting wet or dirty in the event of inclement weather.
